She Said YES! Linz & GF

I love proposals, I love diamonds, I love these two!!

My SS Lindsay recently got engaged to the love of her life and is planning their wedding for this November!! I am so excited, I can barely stand it!!  Linz and GF (Graham for short, lol) first dated in High School and were each others first loves, but they went their separate ways, as teenagers do…

The heart is a wonderful thing though, and will always find its way back home.

I love these two with all of my heart and soul, and I can not be more happy or excited that Linz gets her Happily Ever After!!  She is going to be SUCH a gorgeous Bride!

Take a look at their super fun and cute Engagement Session!!

The Art of Beauty- Workshops!!

The Art of Beauty Workshops

For some of us, no matter how many times we read about it online or see others do it, getting the perfect makeup look is impossible-even with Pinterest’s help!!  I am constantly asked- How do you do a smokey eye? or How do you do winged liner?….Well now I can teach you, in person, and hands on!

The workshops will run approximately 2 hrs (depending how chatting we are 🙂  and the cost is $40/person.

The Art of Beauty workshops are offered on the follow dates and times:

Sunday March 10, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.

Saturday March 23, 2013  at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Sunday March 24, 2013 at 12:00 p.m.

Saturday March 30, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Saturday April 6, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Workshop will include:

1)  Bring all of your makeup and brushes/tools! We will sort through your cosmetic case and advise what to keep and what to replace, what to add and what to revamp!

2)  Discussion of what colours and shades look best with your skin tone and why they work best for you.

3)  I will be performing a step by step “every day” makeup application for you all to watch. You may decide to try the application on yourself during the workshop or simply make detailed notes on a personal face chart for future reference.

4)  After the “everyday” look is complete, you will learn how to convert the makeover into an “evening or special occasion look.”

The workshop will be completed with questions and answers.  Also, suggestions will be made on products if you need to add to your makeup wardrobe. You will leave this lesson with knowledge, skill & confidence in doing your own makeup.

To register for a workshop please email your name, phone number and workshop date/time you would like to attend.  You will receive a confirmation email back including the address for the workshop!

Please note: There are only 8 spots available for each session, so if you have a group of ladies and want to book more than 1 spot, please indicate that in your response.

Behind the Scenes!!

Today was an amazing day of old friends, new friends and lots and lots of love!!!

I spent the day with some fabulous ladies today, all who own their own businesses in the wedding industry like myself! It’s so great to be inspired by each other and showcase each other;s talents!!  We had an awesome day with a lot of laughs, a lot of work, and a lot of FUN!

I know I speak on all of us when I say a HUGE Thank You to our amazing couples today! They braved the cold and were such troopers through the entire process of hair, make up, set changes, cold noses and frozen fingertips!!

I personally also want to send out another HUGE Thank You to all the incredibly talented business women who made today possible:

FAQ’s- Eyelash Extensions!

I have had a lot of interest in the eyelash extensions that I am offering, and wanted to put out a FAQ section for everyone to read about the lashes, and get a better understanding of what exactly they are, how they are applied, how long they last, pricing, etc.

If you would like to book an appointment or request further information, please email me at michelle@daisycosmetics.ca

Eyelash Extension- FAQ’s

What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Not to be confused with the strip false lashes that are a single-event accessory, these semi-permanent, synthetic Mink extensions are glued one by one onto the natural lash (not the skin) by using a specially formulated glue. Single eyelashes are applied to your own natural eyelash to achieve a beautiful full luscious and long set of lashes. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for weddings special occasions, vacations, or just for day-to-day wear.

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last?
Eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes – typically 6-8 weeks with proper care and maintenance. For some people it is 4-6 weeks, and others more than 8 weeks… Factors include the strength of your natural lash, your lifestyle and especially the way you care for the eyelash extensions. Simple and detailed after-care instructions are provided, although everyone is different, and each individual’s natural lash cycles vary.

What are fills, why do I need them and how often do I need them?
Fills are needed when the natural eyelash has fallen out (due to the eyelash cycle) and there has been an extension lash applied to it. You will require fills every 2-4 weeks if you would like to achieve a consistently full fresh set of lashes. We will take the time to remove any eyelash extensions that have either grown out to far or are not sitting correctly. Maintenance appointments take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. Please refer to Eyelash Pricing page, as fills are set on a weekly basis.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
You can still wear mascara, although I recommend not wearing any on a daily basis.  Client’s who have not worn mascara have a longer lash life than those who do.  You most likely will not need to wear any mascara on a daily basis. The eyelash extensions are very dark black and give the illusion of wearing mascara. You may not even need to wear eye liner either, as your lash line will automatically appear darker and fuller from the eyelash extensions.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash Extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent we use is completely waterproof! Some special care is required, but overall maintenance is low. * I suggest that you do not wash your eye area for 24 hours after the application or maintenance*

How long will it take to apply Eyelash Extensions and how is it done?
The application process for eyelash extensions normally takes around 1-2 hours depending on the service you have booked. A glam or full set will take 2 (or 2.5) hours, where a half set will only take approximately 1 hour. You will lie comfortably on a spa bed and the extensions will then be applied to each individual eyelash on a hair-by-hair basis.

How do I choose the look I want?
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. The overall look of the lashes can range from very natural to glamorous. We will consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in and to also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size. Each person’s lashes will vary in strength and length.

Do eyelash extensions make my own lashes fall out?
No, definitely not this is a myth. The natural eyelash has a cycle and is constantly being replaced like your hair. As mentioned above, as your natural lashes fall out the extension will fall out as well, making it more noticeable when you naturally loose a lash.

Can I still wear eye makeup?
Yes you can still wear eye makeup, although as previously mentioned, you will not have to wear mascara and possibly even eye liner. I recommend removing eyeliner and eye shadow using a damp lint free pad and a small amount of oil –free eye make-up remover and gently running it along the eyeliner to remove it. When removing eye makeup try not to wipe downwards into the lashes. Wiping down towards the lashes will cause a build up of makeup on the lashes and may lessen the life of them.

Can I curl or perm eyelash extensions?
No, do not perm your beautiful new eyelash extensions. You won’t have to as the extension lashes hold curl on their own. Using a manual clamp eyelash curler is not recommended and will lessen the life of your eyelash extensions and perhaps damage them. You can however use a heated eyelash curler but do not over use it only using it when necessary.

I had eyelash extensions applied a few days ago and a few lashes have fallen out – why?
As explained above the lash has a growth cycle and unfortunately it is hard to determine which lash is ready to fall out naturally so it is unpredictable when applying the lash extensions. Each day we can loose 3-5 natural lashes, but often they fall out unnoticed, but when eyelash extensions are applied we are more aware of when they shed as we know the extensions are there plus they are longer, darker and thicker. If you sleep on your stomach with your face squashed into the pillow or you favour sleeping on one side you may notice the lashes may not last as well as the other side.

Can I open my eyes during the application?
It is preferred for you to keep your eyes closed and relaxed during the application. If you need to open your eyes, please advise your technician before doing so as two sharp tweezers are used when applying the lashes.

Do I have to get a full set of eyelash extensions?
No, half sets are also available. At the Eyelash Boutique a half set is done on the upper lashes with lashes being scattered along the entire upper lash line from the inner eye to the outer edge. Allow 45 minutes – 1 hour for a half set. Half sets are suited to people who have naturally thick and dark lashes, they are not suitable for fair lashed people or ladies who do not have many lashes.

Are the eyelash extensions glued to my skin?
No, it is adhered approximately 1mm from the eyelid.

Is the eyelash glue and glue remover safe?
Yes, in the right hands and having your extensions applied by some one who has been correctly trained it is safe. Beware of untrained people who claim they have been professionally trained with years experience. We take great care to ensure that the adhesive and adhesive remover does not come in contact with the skin or eyes. The Micha Lash glue is a high quality fast drying glue which does not give a clumped look. As the glue is being used around the delicate eye area it is important to only have eyelash extensions applied by a trained and qualified Micha Lash technician.

Can the eyelash extensions be removed?
Yes, at any time for any reason they can be removed however there will be a removal charge. Refer to prices. The extension lashes are easily removed by using a Micha Lash glue remover and is safe.

What should I do before my eyelash extension appointment?
If you have fair eyelashes it is recommended to have them tinted before your eyelash extension appointment. Preferably arrive with no makeup or at least no mascara and do not perm or curl your eyelashes before your eyelash extension appointment. If you wear contact lenses please bring your contact lens case as your lenses will need to be removed.

IF YOU HAVE AN EYE INFECTION OR HAVE RECENTLY UNDERGONE AN EYE OPERATION OR COSMETIC EYE SURGERY IT WOULD BE BEST TO WAIT UNTIL THE EYE AREA HAS COMPLETELY HEALED. I REQUIRE A DOCTORS WRITTEN PERMISSION TO PREFORM THE APPLICATION 4 WEEKS AFTER SUCH INFECTION OR SURGERY.

IF YOU HAVE RECENTLY HAD YOUR EYELASHES PERMED EYELASH EXTENSIONS CANNOT BE APPLIED UNTIL 3 MONTHS AFTER THE PERMING PROCEDURE.
